PTV Group and TNO join forces on the path towards smarter, healthier cities

 

PTV Group and research institute TNO sign cooperation agreement: Vincent Kobesen, CEO of the PTV, and Leo Kusters, Managing Director Urbanisation at TNO.

There were times when urban planning used to be drawn on paper maps and then shifted to data. But that is about to change with the introduction of Urban Strategy with PTV Visum. The collaboration will mean faster and more accurate results for urban planning.

 

Both Urban Strategy and PTV Visum are existing technologies combined to create a unique, innovative and powerful decision-making tool. Created by The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), Urban Strategy was built to reduce the complexity of the traditional planning method. Now powered by PTV Visum, the platform will be able to simulate impacts such as increase in traffic, noise or air pollution to achieve an ideal scenario. From a holistic to a detailed view, Urban Strategy with PTV Visum enables policy makers not only to zoom in on a specific neighbourhood but also the adjacent areas.
