Driving mobility forward: PTV Group at New Mobility World 2017

PTV Group’s booth at New Mobility World 2017

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Here is why PTV Group’s first time around as an exhibitor at New Mobility World – part of the International Motor Show Germany (IAA) 2017 – was a great success and the perfect event to launch PTV MaaS Modeller.

As the first of four components of the PTV Mobility as a Service (MaaS) Accelerator Program, PTV MaaS Modeller is the right tool to get any shared mobility fleet in any city started because it calculates the relevant key performance indicators before operators put the service on the road. The fascinating conversations with clients, partners and journalists have shown that our software solution strikes a strong chord. It enables automotive companies to put a fleet with precisely the right number of autonomous electric vehicles on the road. OEMs turned fleet operators match the demand and thus run their new business cases profitably. Cities, on the other hand, do no longer fear being flooded by a bulk of additional cars causing more congestion than ever. The tool’s underlying travel demand models and traffic data ensure a calculation that covers the demand with a minimum number of vehicles to be integrated in the multimodal ecosystem – for a sustainable and efficient network.

ECOSYSTEM PARTNERSHIPS ELEVATE MOBILITY
The future of mobility is not about vehicles. It is about encouraging the right number of vehicles on the road. This is also what Miller Crockart, Vice President Global Sales & Marketing, pointed out in his talk at the Speakers’ Corner. Using data intelligently and implementing smart tools to model and simulate, and later operate and manage multimodal systems are indispensable. To successfully manage the shift from car ownership to consumption models that are seamlessly integrated into a city’s mobility mix to supplement public transport, requires strong partnerships between technology companies, car manufacturers and cities as well as municipalities. Having talked to policy makers and automobile companies alike, we are looking forward to continuing the lively and inspiring discussions we had at our booth. After all, providing software solutions is only one aspect of PTV Group’s portfolio. Bringing the private and the public sector together and consulting them on topics and trends about the future of transportation is also part of why and how PTV Group shapes the New Mobility World.
