The PTV Showcase for Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) in Barcelona was honoured with the “Best MaaS Project Award”. The prize was presented to Devrim Kara, PTV Managing Director in the UK & Ireland, at the Smart Travel Live! conference in Liverpool: “We are chuffed about this award and the recognition of our hard work on the topic of shared mobility. Congratulations to the whole MaaS Barcelona project team and to my colleagues who developed the PTV MaaS Modeller”.
For the MaaS Barcelona Showcase, the project team consisting of PTV experts and project partners developed multiple MaaS scenarios to evaluate different on-demand ride sharing options. An in-depth transport model and the software tool PTV MaaS Modeller were used to analyse the configuration and benefits of a fleet of vehicles deployed for ride sharing in Barcelona.
The jury of ten independent transport experts from the UK highlighted the broad scope of the project: “PTV’s MaaS Barcelona includes the offering of all public transport modes, as well as private vehicles and the updated demand for mobility. This puts it ahead in the Best Mobility as a Service Category due to the depth of the project.”
The Smarter Travel Awards were presented for the third time, recognising smart projects, people and technologies that are defining future mobility. The achievements were evaluated in nine different categories, including the “Best Shared Transport Project” and the “Best Smart City Project”.
The PTV Group recently received another award for its commitment to Mobility as a Service. Ralf Frisch, Solution Director at PTV, was officially honoured for his role as an active ambassador for Mobility-as-a-Service by the MaaS Alliance, a public-private partnership.
