Women in transport: three interviews

Our female colleagues talk about their career in transportation.

Women make up only 22% of the transport workforce in Europe. To achieve a more diverse and inclusive transportation workforce the companies of the International Transport Forum’s Corporate Partnership Board (CPB) launched a work stream on this year’s Worlds Women’s Day. We asked our female colleagues, Carmen Nowack, Carolin Schmitt and Marianne Petersen, why they choose a career in transportation. You will find their answers in our video.

Marianne Petersen is working as a Product Manager for Traffic Planning Software. What she loves about her job is that she is developing tools for experts, that can shape the traffic and transport systems of tomorrow.

Big Data is one of the hot topics of our time – Carmen Nowack is in the middle of this innovative field. She loves to take on new challenges and encourages young women to join the transport sector, as there’s a lot of movement and space for ideas in the industry.

As a Partner Manager for Logistics Solutions, Carolin Schmitt has a very diverse job. She loves the combination of technical expertise and personal contact to customers. For her the mobility sector is an exciting field to work in.
